To the Frog Pond

I started knitting this bag and about 35 rows into it, I realized I CAN'T STAND THIS YARN! It is hard to knit with and the pattern really does need a nice mercerized cotton to show off the detail.

So, it will be frogged.

Since I am starting work at an office again next month, I have been toying with knitting a "back of the chair sweater". You know the kind of sweater you need to have at your desk because depending on the time of day, you could be freezing to death or dying from heat stroke.

I am looking around for some yarn to knit the Barbizon Jacket from Morehouse Farms. I just don't know if I want a wool sweater....maybe alpaca & silk.

love the way your toenails match the yarn colour!

Alpaca & Silk sounds like a good combo. In the office where I work, a back of the chair sweater is much needed in the summer. They really crank the AC.

Alpaca and silk would so a nice treat when you needed a little warmth. Too bad about the bag!

Oh no what a bummer, I love the color even if you didn't love the yarn. And I like the matching toes too ;)

I think you need a back-of-the-chair shawl instead, though I like the idea of alpaca and silk.

I really like a shawl for office use, because you can drape it over bare arms, pull it tight around you if it's *really* cold, or use it as a lap blanket if you're wearing a skirt. The one hanging on the back of my chair right now is a Clapotis in an alpaca/silk blend (in fact, you saw me knitting some of it) so apparently I agree with your other commenters on that. It's surprisingly warm.

Oh, I like that sweater pattern! Too bad about the bag. It's a cute pattern.

And I love Hannah's fabric. Pink, kitties and sparkles! Perfect!!!! So girly.

Alpaca and silk would be a great choice. I have a cheap-o store bought sweater as my back-of-the chair sweater. I definitely need to upgrade.
