And then there was the next day AFTER the Scavenger Dash where I also signed up the Phoenix 10K.
Yeah, I signed up for the races independently and didn't realize until I put them on the calendar that I'd over scheduled.
I am a woman of my word so I strapped on my running shoes Sunday morning and headed to downtown Phoenix.
Here we are warming up for the race.
My girlfriend Jessica was a great cheerleader. She's been my partner in losing weight and getting in shape over the past 2 years. She motivated me through tiredness and slowness. We finished under our goal by 10 minutes!
Our reward was a great breakfast!
Looking forward to making a better time in the 12k's of Christmas next month!
Hannah and I did a scavenger hunt with friends this past Saturday night. I've known a couple of the other teams since I moved to Arizona 17 years ago. They were helpful to work as a team to figure out the clues then we all set off to do our own races.
Scenes from the rest of the hunt!
Kiss a pig!
Coffin at Giligan's bar
Mandatory challenge: build the stick and each team member must move a washer from the outside to the inside peg.
2nd Mandatory Challenge: each team member must travel the course balancing a glow stick on chopsticks without dropping it or having it touch your hand. Hannah figured out the right strategy to make this work.
Next stop, Giants stadium!
The Scottsdale Museum of Art. Part of the photo was professing our love to a stranger in front of the LOVE sculpture.
Final spot..Xanadu Gallery!
We cut 45 minutes off last year and covered 6.25 miles in just over 2 hours with challenges and fun!
