Pearl Harbor
On Sunday morning, since we were up at the crack of dawn (4:30 am Honolulu time), we headed over to the Pearl Harbor Memorial.
While waiting for the "movie", the kids were enthralled with the whirlpool in the fountain.
Here we are on the memorial.
It is truly a moving experience. I saw so many names of the men that died that day and think of all the crosses on the beach in Normandy and the Vietnam Memorial with all the names of its dead soldiers and I am thankful every day for the freedom they have given their lives to protect.
Maybe I have more worries as a mother whose son has to register for the draft when he turns 18.
A beautiful flag in the blue sky on the Pearl Harbor Memorial.

Going to HAWAII
I am knitting and keep forgetting to take photos.
However, the big news is the kids & I are going to HONOLULU, HAWAII for Thanksgiving.
We leave on Saturday. Hmm...maybe I can post from the hotel computer. We'll see!
No worries that there will be photos when we get back! ;)

Tea & photos
Ok, and me on the rock wall. Thank you to the lady next to my Dad who recommended a better angle that straight on directly behind my bum. ;) I can totally see how this could be a fun activity. I am not sure I have the guts to do it without a safety cord but definitely on a rock wall.Sunday, October 28, 2007
Schnepf Farms
We got home late in the afternoon and we were POOPED. I fell asleep at 7:30 pm after putting Simon to bed and waiting for Hannah to come up. It was a really nice day!Friday, October 26, 2007
Knitter's Tea Swap Swag
I joined the Knitter's Tea Swap for the current round. It is kind of like Secret Pal but only 1 swap and you actually end up swapping with the person that gets your package.
There was a lovely box on my front step this afternoon and the insides looked like this! Nicely packaged and wrapped.
I love the card.
And all the lovely items.
King Arthur Scone mix, Adagio tea sampler (definitely tea in the morning for me), Lindt dark chocolate, a polar fleece hat from her hubby's work, Marshmallow fluff (for making fudge), hand made stitch markers (sterling & jasper made by Kelley), tea lites with a holder, a mug (how did she know I only had 3 mugs in the house?), maple candies, handmade soap, lavender sachet and a a framed picture made by her brother in law of Mt. Ararat AND YARN. The yarn is Classic Elite Wings yarn that is alpaca, silk & wool. Thank you so much Kelley. This was an amazing gift!

Yarn & Food
Saturday
I went to a Stitch N Bitch out in Mesa where a yarn company brought in some of their yarns and we all brought food so it was a bit of a potluck/sale/SnB. I am hoping Dad got some good photos and is going to send them to me later today.
I also went to a Silpada jewelry party at Lizette's house. They sell only sterling silver jewelry and it is gorgeous. If anyone is interested in doing buying a pieces, let me know and I could have an online book party. I didn't buy too much, just one really pretty ring. I love rings.
In the evening to a fundraiser for the Children's Action Alliance. Work had purchased a table and I went with my co-worker, Lizette.
Normally at these functions, you never see anyone you know. I got lucky because I got to see Susan & Chris! Susan and I met 8-9 years ago when she was working with David.
It was such a pleasant surprise to see her & Chris!!!
Yarn photos next...I hope.
