Contests

It appears we have been a wee bit lucky as of late.

I was reading Kathy's blog this morning and saw that I won her lace contest and chose the hot pink & red lace weight yarn. I was drawn to the green & pink/purple but I just got some lovely yarn from my Secret Pal 8 Angelia in similar colors so hot pink it is.

We had another surprise last week. About 2-3 weeks ago I saw a contest to win a tickets & a meeting with Jeff Gordon sponsored by Georgia Pacific. You picked up the entry forms at Basha's but had to fill them out and mail them to the address provided on the entry blank. I got one for me and one for David.

Last Thursday David got a Fed Ex letter at the house from someone so I put it off to the side and gave it to him after dinner when I remembered it.

Inside was a letter telling him that he won the grand prize of a meet & greet for him & a guest with Jeff Gordon at the Hard Rock Cafe next week, tickets to the November NASCAR race at PIR and a gift bag.

At first, David thought it was a joke but then I remembered sending the form with the thought that we would NEVER win (I mean, how often do you enter something and promptly forget since your odds of winning are SO LOW?). After a short discussion, it was decided that David would take my Dad, a much BIGGER NASCAR fan along to the prize events.

I'll post pictures when they have the meet & greet next week.

Hmm...I better enter some more sweepstakes, especially those that involve $$$! ;)

And I want to eat that souffle from your last post. It looks soooo good.

I "LOVE" NASCAR. I especially love the short tracks. I have been to Brisol twice and to the Brickyard 400. The night races are the best. That is so cool. I am so excited for you. C-ya!

What a great prize! We are NASCAR fans...have not been to PIR (too bad Alison moved out of town) but go to Daytona twice a year and Homestead in Nov. Congrats!
